The 18th Century Audition Technique

I want to share something with you that’s very special. Very special indeed.

I’m here at the venue where the first drama teacher ever in Italy first starting teaching actors.

You can see it was built in the 18th century. And he created the technique that what you do as an actor is you look across at the other person in the scene, and you pitch the lines out at them.

It was the first time that a drama teacher had taught that. So in the 1700s he was teaching that technique.

You tell me, your drama teacher, has he moved forward since the 18th century? Does he understand that their is a digital revolution happening right now and that you can take advantage of it?

That’s what you have to ask yourself. Talk to you soon.
