When I think of the actors that have come out of NIDA here in Sydney, which is the school that taught Cate Blanchett, Hugo Weaving, Judy Davis, Mel Gibson etc. There’s lots of graduates that they turned out that didn’t turn into, Mel Gibson, Judy Davis et al.
Why? Because those actors followed their training whereas Mel Gibson, Judy Davis etc took on the training, then used their instinct on how to apply it.
What I’m saying to you is drama training is overrated. Your drama training is not the reason you get work. Your drama training is why you get noticed but you get work because of your instinct.
