Character Challenge — Terms & Conditions
Applies to all Character Challenge competitions run by The Audition Technique. The specific prize, entry period and eligibility for each challenge are set out in that challenge's announcement, which forms part of these terms.
1. Promoter. Each Character Challenge is run by [The Audition Technique Pty Ltd, ABN 88 690 182 542 ("TAT", "we", "us").
2. Eligibility. Entry is open to current premium members of the TAT community. Our team, judges and their immediate families are not eligible. Where a challenge states different eligibility, that announcement prevails.
3. Entry period. Each challenge opens and closes on the dates in its announcement. Entries received after the stated close time (Australian Eastern Time) will not be considered.
4. How to enter. Record a self-tape following the brief in the challenge announcement, host it yourself (e.g. unlisted YouTube/Vimeo or a shareable link), and post a viewable link in the nominated community space before the deadline. Private or inaccessible links will not be judged. One entry per person unless the announcement says otherwise.
5. Entry requirements. Your entry must: (a) be your own original performance, performed live by you on camera — no AI, voice-cloning, lip-syncing or deepfakes; (b) not use third-party copyrighted material (scripts, music, footage) without permission; and (c) not be unlawful, defamatory, harassing, obscene or offensive. We may disqualify any entry that breaches this.
6. Judging. Winners are chosen on merit — the strength and truthfulness of the performance — by a TAT judge or panel. This is a game of skill; chance plays no part. The judge's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
7. Prize. The prize for each challenge is stated in its announcement. Prizes are not transferable and not redeemable for cash unless stated. Cash prizes are paid by bank transfer to the verified winner, who is responsible for providing accurate payment details and for any tax payable.
8. Winner notification. The winner is notified and announced in the community space on the date in the announcement. If a winner can't be contacted, doesn't respond within [14] days, or is ineligible, we may select another entry.
9. Intellectual property & licence. You keep ownership of your entry. By entering, you grant TAT a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, edit, publish and display your entry and your name and likeness across our website, social media, advertising, community and course materials, without further approval or payment. You confirm you have the right to grant this licence and that anyone appearing in your entry has consented.
10. Privacy. We handle personal information in line with our Privacy Policy [link], and use your details only to run the competition and contact winners.
11. Liability. To the extent permitted by law, TAT is not liable for any loss arising from your participation or from technical issues affecting entry. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
12. General. We may amend, suspend or cancel a challenge where reasonably necessary. These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. By entering, you accept these terms.
